Acid Gas Control Acid Gas Control
Acid gas valves are subject to sulfide stress corrosion cracking.

Acid gas valves are subject to sulfide stress corrosion cracking.

The feed sources for the sulfur recovery unit (SRU) are acid gases from the amine units and sour gas from the sour water strippers.

When storing or moving acid gas, it is imperative that your control valves are designed and manufactured with materials and packing systems that minimize safety risks to personnel and the environment.

Our acid gas valve solutions provide a highly accurate, high turndown ratio while reducing the occurrence of fugitive emissions.

The acid gas valves belong to the various amine contactors located throughout the refinery . The SRU normally has no direct control of the acid gas coming to the unit. Typical control valve for this applications include the Fisher™ Vee-Ball™, Control-Disk™ or 8560 high performance butterfly valve with WCC bodies and 300-series stainless steel trim specified with material compatible with the applicable NACE standard. Fisher's ENVIRO-SEAL™ packing system is recommended to minimize the amount of fugitive emissions.
