Competing in today’s power market requires the agility to throttle back operations during non-peak hours.

Increased cyclical operation, daily start-stop, and faster ramp rates are used to ensure full load operation at daily peak hours to maximize profit and allow for plant availability.

Most steam produced in plants does not meet the required conditions for its various applications. Thus, some degree of steam conditioning is warranted in either control of pressure and/or temperature to protect downstream equipment, or desuperheating to enhance heat transfer.

Sizing, selection, application, and installation of the proper desuperheating or steam conditioning system is critical to achieving optimum plant performance.
